This video by Jacques Drouin was made using a pinboard. This video has a great sense of movement. Something is always moving and the video hass a flow. One thing always leads to another. This video also plays around with form, things constantly changing from one object to another. Because the entire video is in monochrome, it can be a bit hard to tell what one is looking at or what is happening. Also an important principle in the video is perspective, and the animator looks to have done a lot of playing around with perspective in this video.
The Silence Beneath the Bark (Le Silence Sous L’ecorce)
This animation has a very painted look for the most part, but also looks like it features some other media. The style is visually appealing. I feel like color is an important part of this video. Because the video has a winter setting, the most prominent color is white. Because of this, the characters are bright, easily visible colors that are easy to see against a white background. As the feel of the video changes, the color changes from white to orange and black, giving the video a bit more of an eerie feel until going back to white.I like the video because of the overall feel it has. A sense of curiosity and fun. I find the whole thing to be quite imaginative.
This animation by Anthony Lucas looks to be a mix of 2-d and 3-d animation. Everything is in a largely silhouetted style, using detail and color only when necessary. As such, form and shape are large elements in this work. Contrast is also important. Because most objects in the animation are black, the background has to be a color that black will show up well on. The result is an animation that looks very cool and also fits it's story.
This fun little video by Nicolas Brault has a hand drawn look and an interesting concept. The video uses the principle of form heavily with shadows being an important part of the animation. The style of the video is quite simple but in this case it works. The music of the video has a bit of a mischivous feel to it, complimenting the video.

This 2d digital animation has, in my opinion, a strength in motion. A lot of the movement in this video is well animated and smooth, giving some objects a bit of a 3d effect despite the 2d style.
